NR 24-07 Sheriff’s Office conducting shooting investigation
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a shooting investigation that occurred in the area of Orange Avenue in Cape Canaveral. Deputies responded to the area at approximately 3:30 p.m., in reference to a report that a male had been shot.
Preliminary investigation at the scene determined that the incident occurred during an argument between neighbors. The argument escalated, to the point where an adult male was shot. The male was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Agents from the Sheriff’s Office General Crimes, Homicide, and Crime Scene Units are currently in the process of interviewing potential witnesses and collecting evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the names of the persons involved at this time and no arrests have been made. Based on the preliminary investigation there is no danger to the general public. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
