NR 23-32 Arrest made in Domestic Violence stabbing
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 39-year-old, Larry Speer Jr. of Titusville for his involvement in a domestic violence incident that resulted in him stabbing his former girlfriend and committing aggravated battery on another family member on the evening of October 3, 2023. Speer was arrested on November 1, 2023, after an arrest warrant was issued by Judge Kimberly Musselman, charging him with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Battery (Domestic Violence), Aggravated Battery of a person over 65, and Violation of Probation. Speer is currently being held at the Brevard County Jail Complex on a No Bond status.
The investigation began at approximately 10 p.m. on October 31, 2023, when deputies responded to the 900 block of Macco Road, Port St John, after the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a disturbance at the residence. Upon arrival, deputies located two female victims who had been seriously injured. Both victims were transported to the hospital where they are expected to recover from their injuries.
The investigation thus far indicates that Speer attacked his former girlfriend by stabbing her repeatedly. Two family members of the victim discovered the attack and attempted to stop Speer, at which time Speer struck an elderly female with an unknown object. Upon learning that the Sheriff’s Office was responding, Speer fled from the residence. He was later located at a motel in Titusville where he was taken into custody by members of the GAMEOVER Task Force.
