NR 23-12 Decedent Identified in Melbourne Beach Shooting Investigation
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is identifying the male who was shot and killed in unincorporated Melbourne Beach, on Saturday, March 11, 2023. The decedent is identified as 18-year-old, Rondell Brown of Melbourne. The second victim in the shooting has been upgraded to stable condition.
The investigation began when deputies responded to the area of Spessard Holland Park on Saturday, March 11th at approximately 6:30 p.m., after the Sheriff’s Office was advised that a male had been shot. Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim who was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. A second male, later identified as Rondell Brown, was located who was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made. Based on the interviews and evidence collected thus far, it is believed that this was a targeted attack and there is no danger to the general public. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
