NR 22-30 Sheriff’s Office conducting death investigation
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation that occurred this evening on Cypress Avenue in Mims. Deputies responded at approximately 6:00 p.m. after the Sheriff’s Office was advised that a person had been shot. Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim who was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. A short time after the shooting, a vehicle was stopped in the area of I-95 and State Road 46 by deputies. The occupants are believed to have some involvement in the incident. The occupants are being interviewed at this time to determine their connection to the death.
Agents from the Homicide and Crime Scene Units are currently in the process of interviewing potential witnesses and collecting evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the name of the victim at this time and no arrests have been made. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
