NR 22-29 Sebastian man arrested for bank robbery
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 34-year-old, Bernard Rogers Jr. of Sebastian, Florida, for the robbery of the TD Bank, located at 4155 North Wickham Road, Melbourne, that occurred this morning. Rogers was arrested in the area of State Road 520 and US 1 in Cocoa, after a felony traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle he was driving. He is being charged with Armed Robbery, Grand Theft and Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony. He will be taken to the Brevard County Jail Complex where he will be held on a No Bond status.
The investigation began after the Sheriff’s Office was alerted to a robbery that occurred at the TD Bank at approximately 11:30 a.m. Bank employees advised that a black male suspect entered the bank, displayed a handgun and demanded money from one of the tellers. During a search of the surrounding area and roadways, deputies observed the suspect vehicle as it exited I-95 onto State Road 520. The suspect was taken into custody without incident after the traffic stop was conducted at approximately 12:00 p.m. Agents believe that Rogers may also be a suspect in other central Florida robberies. Those investigations are ongoing at this time.
