NR 22-28 Sheriff’s Office investigating death of infant
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a six-month old infant that was found unresponsive yesterday evening, July 9, 2022, at a residence located on Yarber Avenue in unincorporated Cocoa.
The investigation began after deputies responded to the residence after the mother called the Communications Center advising that her baby was not breathing. The baby was transported to the hospital where it was later pronounced deceased.
The infant was taken to the Brevard County Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy will be conducted. The investigation is ongoing as agents are awaiting the final medical results and examining evidence to determine the circumstances that led to the death.
