NR 22-13 Deputy arrested for Domestic Violence
A Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Probationary Deputy, Tyler Morra was arrested yesterday evening by our agency and charged with Battery Domestic Violence after allegedly battering his live-in girlfriend. Morra is currently being detained at the Brevard County Jail Complex on a No Bond status.
The arrest occurred after deputies responded in reference to a disturbance. The investigation determined that Morra and his girlfriend were involved in an argument that allegedly resulted with Morra striking the victim. According to the responding deputies, the victim had injuries consistent with allegations. Morra was taken into custody without incident.
Sheriff Ivey stated, “I am extremely disappointed in the actions of this individual and have authorized the immediate termination of his employment. Policing our own and holding those who refuse to abide by our laws accountable is paramount to maintaining the reputation and credibility of the amazing men and women of this agency who work around the clock to proudly serve and protect our communities.”
Morra recently initiated his employment with the Sheriff’s Office and was currently in the Field Training Program.
