NR 22-04 Sheriff’s Office conducting death investigation
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation that occurred this morning at a residence on Uranus Drive in unincorporated Cocoa. Deputies responded to the residence at approximately 9:18 a.m. after the Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Cocoa Police Department who reported they had received a 911 call advising a person had been shot in the residence. Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Agents from the Homicide and Crime Scene Units are currently in the process of interviewing potential witnesses and collecting evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the name of the victim at this time and no arrests have been made. Based on the preliminary investigation it is believed this was a targeted attack and there is no danger to the general public. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
