NR 22-02 Sheriff’s Office conducting death investigation

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation that occurred this afternoon on Gray Lane in Mims.  Deputies responded to the scene shortly before 3:00 p.m. after a 911 call was received advising a person had been shot.  Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim who was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Deputies learned that a second male subject was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound.  That subject is being treated for his wound and is currently in stable condition.

Agents from the Homicide and Crime Scene Units are currently in the process of interviewing potential witnesses and collecting evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the name of the subjects at this time and no arrests have been made. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
