NR 21-40 Sheriff’s Office Conducting Death Investigation
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the death of a 73-year-old, Brevard County resident that occurred earlier today at Playalinda Beach. According to witnesses, the male was standing in the surf when he disappeared underwater without resurfacing. The male was pulled from the water unresponsive and was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Agents from the Homicide and Crime Scene Units are currently in the process of conducting interviews and collecting evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the death. The male will be taken to the Brevard County Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy will be conducted. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
