NR 21-12 Sheriff’s Office Conducting Death Investigation

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation that occurred this morning near a residence on Main Street in Mims.  Deputies responded to the scene shortly before 10:00 a.m. after a 911 call was received advising a person had been shot.  Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim who was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Agents from the Homicide and Crime Scene Units are currently in the process of interviewing potential witnesses and collecting evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the name of the victim at this time and no arrests have been made.  Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
