NR 19-39 Fort Pierce Man Arrested for Manslaughter
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 21-year-old, Nathan Marquise Hamilton of Fort Pierce for his involvement in the death of 51-year-old, Jonathan Montgomery, who was discovered early Friday morning at a residence on Sand Pine Road in unincorporated Indialantic. Hamilton was charged with Manslaughter and is currently being held in the Brevard County Jail on $150,000 bond.
The investigation began on November 8, 2019, at approximately 9:42 a.m., when the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a citizen who advised an adult male was located unresponsive inside the residence on Sand Pine Road. Deputies responded to the scene and determined that the male was deceased. Homicide agents and Crime Scene investigators responded and began processing the scene for evidence. The victim’s body was transported to the Medical Examiners’ Office where an autopsy was conducted.
The investigation has determined that the victim and Hamilton were at the victim’s residence on Sand Pine Road on Friday morning when Hamilton began handling a firearm that he had brought to the residence. While Hamilton was handling the firearm, it discharged, striking the victim, causing his death.
