NR 19-30 Sheriff’s Office Investigates Shooting

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Fishtail Palm Avenue in Canaveral Groves, yesterday evening. An adult male from Cocoa, was injured in the incident. The male was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased late yesterday evening.

The investigation began shortly after 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening after the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a shooting where one person was injured. Deputies arrived and were able to contain the scene and identify all persons involved in the incident. Preliminary investigation has determined that the shooting appears to be related to an ongoing dispute between neighbors.

The decedent was taken to the Brevard County Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy will be conducted.

The Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the identities of any of the involved parties at this time. The investigation is ongoing and updates will be provided when more information is available.
