NR 19-21 Shooting Investigation Update
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has identified the decedent who was shot in a residence in unincorporated Cocoa Saturday Evening. The male is identified as 34-year-old Clint Back, who lived at the residence.
The investigation began on May 19, 2019, when deputies responded to the 7000 block of Melaleuca Road at approximately 6:09 p.m. after receiving a call in reference to a person having been shot. Back was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation thus far has determined that a disturbance at the residence escalated to a point where Back was shot. All occupants of the residence who were present during the incident are being cooperative with the investigation. The results of the investigation will be forwarded to the State Attorney’s Office for a decision as to whether charges will be filed in this case.
