NR 19-18 Sheriff’s Office Conducting Death Investigation
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has identified the decedent who was discovered in a residence in unincorporated Cocoa yesterday afternoon. The female is identified as 32-year-old Samantha Orr who lived in the residence. Arrested in connection with her death was her 32-year-old husband, Justin Orr. He was charged with 2nd Degree Murder after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He is currently being held at the Brevard County Jail on a No Bond status.
The investigation began on May 14, 2019, when deputies responded to the 300 block of Iris Street at approximately 2:48 p.m. after receiving a call in reference to a person who was screaming. The investigation of the suspicious incident led deputies to the residence where they observed a bloody Justin Orr. Deputies then discovered the deceased victim inside the residence.
The victim was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy is expected to be completed today. The investigation is ongoing and updates will be furnished as more information becomes available.
