NR 19-03 Sheriff’s Office Investigating Titusville Shooting
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit is investigating a shooting incident that occurred today, February 7, 2019, in the 1600 block of West Court in Titusville. Deputies responded to the area at approximately 12:23 p.m. after receiving a call stating that a person had been shot.
The investigation thus far has determined that two subjects allegedly arrived at the residence for the purpose of committing an armed home invasion robbery. Once inside the residence they confronted the adult occupants and a physical confrontation ensued. The male occupant of the home was able to obtain his firearm, whereby he defended himself shooting both subjects. One male died at the residence. The second subject ran from the residence before collapsing in the street. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The names of the alleged victims and suspects are not being released at this time. The investigation is ongoing and updates will be issued as more information becomes available.
