NR 18-32 Sheriff’s Office Conducting Death Investigation
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a disturbance that ended in the death of one of the male subjects. Deputies responded to 2456 Elsie Circle, unincorporated Cocoa, Sunday evening at approximately 6:57 p.m., after receiving an emergency 911 call. The decedent is identified as 26-year-old, Edilsar Calderon of Cocoa.
The investigation to date has determined that Calderon was at the residence returning a child that he shares in common to the child’s mother. When the mother returned to the residence with her boyfriend, 33-year-old, David Brayboy, a physical interaction occurred between Brayboy and Calderon.
Agents from the Homicide and Crime Scene Units of the Sheriff’s Office are continuing to investigate the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Calderon. An autopsy will be performed by the Brevard County Medical Examiner. Updates will be provided as information becomes available.
