NR 18-21 Corrections Deputies Arrested For Driving Under The Influence
Three Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Deputies have been the subjects of recent arrests in separate and unrelated incidents for driving under the influence. Corrections Deputy Brittany Rowland was arrested by the Titusville Police Department on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 4:02 a.m. Corrections Corporal William Dampman was arrested by the Florida Highway Patrol on April 29, 2018 at 5:15 a.m. in Mims. Corrections Deputy Ronald Collins was arrested by the Cocoa Beach Police Department on Monday evening April 30, 2018 at 8:12 p.m. All were charged with Driving under the Influence and Driving under the Influence with Property Damage.
The incident involving Rowland occurred at the intersection of South Washington Avenue and Cheney Highway in Titusville. Rowland was involved in a single vehicle accident and during the investigation was determined to be under the influence while operating the vehicle. Dampman was arrested after he was involved in a single vehicle accident at State Road 5 and Montgomery Road in Mims. On Monday night, Collins was involved in a single vehicle accident at A1A and 1st Street in the city of Cocoa Beach. The investigation determined that Collins was operating the vehicle while under the influence.
Corrections Deputy Brittany Rowland began her employment with the Sheriff’s Office in September of 2014, Corrections Corporal William Dampman began his employment with the Sheriff’s Office in August of 2014, and Corrections Deputy Ronald Collins began his employment with the Sheriff’s Office in July of 2006. All were assigned to the Brevard County Detention Center.
All three were off-duty at the time of the incidents and all have been suspended without pay pending the outcome of an Administrative Investigation.
